East Division Review

NL East
  • Jacksonville is on pace on reaching the century mark in wins for a second time. The last time they did that, they were the World Series Champions. Major reason for their success attributes to their pitching, which is ranked third. Top players: Lloyd Patrick, Bobby Perez and Julius Sowders.
  • New York is fighting with other seven teams for a "Wild Card" spot. Improving the home record is a must, since they have played respectable on the road. Top performers: Ronnie Washington, Lonny Infante and Jorge Johnson.
  • Kansas City is having a hard time after managing ninety-three wins last season. They are currently ranked sixth in batting, but sixteenth in pitching. If they manage some better outings from their pitching staff, they might take that final "Wild Card" spot. Top players: Ichiro Pong, David Franco and Kiki Duran.
  • Cincinnati must keep the great play of late if they want to give themselves a chance to get back in the playoffs. Having top ten pitching, Cincinnati is a few position players away from being division contenders. Top performers: Rickey Stone, Andrew Page and Tomas Nieves.
AL East
  • Philadelphia is looking for their fifth division title in a row, and baring a total disaster they will get it. Surprisingly they rank below average in both batting and pitching. Looking for that elusive world series title they definately have to step it up in the playoffs. Top players: Rich Meyers, Charlie Thomas and Paul Wang.
  • Augusta is having some tough times, with ownership problems and franchise movements. With seven different owners in eight years, it's hard to compete in any sport. They seem to be moving in the right direction, and will play a key role next year in the fight for the playoffs. Top performers: Ryan Gonzales, Harry Maduro and Aurelio Rodriguez.
  • Atlanta is probably looking on moving some veteran players, and prepare themselves for an all out assault to get into the playoffs next year. Having only one playoff appearance in eight years some moves are necessary.Top players: Tito Lukasiewics, Kevin Kyung and Javier Gabriel.
  • Chicago is in uncharted territories, having won the world series just two seasons ago, the team is on pace to finish last in the division for the first time. With some key acquisitions, Chicago will be back where it belongs, upsetting Philadelphia in seven games. Top performers: J.C. Cox, Fernando Torres and Bob Wood.

North Division Review

NL North
  • Fargo has been playing great baseball, and they look to add on to their impressive collection of trophies. They have posted a league best fourty-five wins at home. They rank first in pitching and second in batting. Top performers : Alton Olson, Ebenezer Brett and Ed Nathan.
  • Helena has the misfortune of being in the same division with Fargo. They are currently leading the "Wild Card" race and would like nothing more than to eliminate their arch rivals Fargo in the playoffs. Top players : Carlos Soto, Albie Johnson and Buck Leonard.
  • Sioux Falls under new management has been respectable at home posting thirty-one wins. With improvement on the road they will be able to contend for a wild card position in the future. Top performers : Miguel Pichardo, Hank Cronin and Brad Shave.
  • Pittsburgh will definately improve on the sixty wins they recorded last year. Unlike Sioux Falls they have a decent road record, what they need to improve is their home record which currently only consists of twenty-four wins. Top players : Samuel Calderon, Odalis Izquierdo and rookie Dave Urich.

AL North
  • Detroit is looking on winning their second division title since their eighth year inception in the league. Ranked first in batting, they need to improve their pitching in order to make some noise in the playoffs. Top performers: Jose Bravo, Nap Clements and Omar Siqueiros.
  • Milwaukee is fighting hard for a "Wild Card" spot to enable them to appear in the playoffs for the first time in their franchise history. Solid pitching is the main reason they will improve their record of eighty wins from last year. Top players: Earl Hammonds, Julian Martinez and Frank Martin.
  • Minnesota is in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since being in the league. Batting hasn't been a problem since they are ranked fifth in the league, but their pitching has dropped considerably from their third place ranking from last year. Top performers: Murray Mahaffey, Vance Piper and Alex Garrido.
  • Syracuse has already recorded sixty-one wins, an improvement from last year, and one win away from surpassing their record from two years ago. They are definitely heading into the right direction. Top players: Don Wang, Chris Damon and Willie Ayala.

The End is Near!

With the baseball season going into the last quarter, now it's the time for the final push...

In the National League, Jacksonville and Charleston hold a fifteen games lead, impressive run for both teams. Fargo is leading their division by nine games in an attempt for their eighth straight division title, astonishing feat in any sport. Colorado is trying to repeat, holding a slim lead of three games ahead of San Francisco. For the Wild Card there is going to be a tight race, with four teams battling for two spots, and other five teams with possibilities if they put some streaks together.

National League Prediction:
  • Division Winners: Fargo, Jacksonville, Charleston and San Francisco
  • Wild Card: Colorado and Helena
In the American League, the only team with a sizable lead is Philadelphia. Going for their fifth straight division title, that means nothing, only thing that matters to domi is that elusive title. Tampa Bay is trying to win their fourth straight division title, having a lead of seven games. Detroit is trying to get out of Minnesotta's shadow and capture a second division title. St. Louis is consistently winning games, and have moved ten games ahead in their division. For the wild card , ''wild'' underestimates the craziness that is in the American League. Up to eight teams are fighting for the two spots that would propel them in the playoffs.

American League Prediction:
  • Division Winners: Philadelphia, Detroit, Tampa and St. Louis
  • Wild Card: Milwaukee and Texas ( it will be a race until the final game)
